What is
Carbon X Tech?
A lightweight but solid material made from combing 30% Forged Carbon and 70% Polycarbonate. A high-performance material primarily used in jet aircraft manufacture, high-end racecars like Formula one, and sporting equipment requiring strength and weight reduction.
Forged Carbon has several advantages: high stiffness, high tensile strength, low weight, high chemical resistance, high-temperature tolerance, and low thermal expansion. Mixed with Polycarbonate for added durability.
Carbon as a material is usually reserved for high-value Swiss watches. The Origen collection with Carbon X technology brings this advanced material to a broader audience.
Significantly, if damaged, Carbon is recoverable, a critical factor for a planet ever more aware of sustainability. Something Nuun Official is passionate about, as we already use recovered ocean plastics in some of our watches.
The Origen Carbon X Tech is a perfect daily watch, 100-meter water-resistant for stress-free fun. Dials use Swiss lume 'Super-LumiNova' for high visibility at night. We have even taken an advanced approach to the rubber straps the Origen is fitted with. Using a 'Dirt-Resist' nanotech rubber created to repel dirt, dust and stains. For a clean, comfortable and secure fit. These new-generation straps are designed with quick-release spring bars, allowing the wearer to change the look and colour of the straps to suit their mood.
The case measures 40.5mm diagonally, with Arabic and index dial options. Protected by K1 crystal, a heat-treated mineral glass which is more scratch resistant than ordinary mineral glass and has better shatter resistance than sapphire crystal. Complete with an anti-reflective coating for better clarity.
Turning the Origen over the caseback showcases a 316L Steel PVD coated micro-blasted finish with the in-house material insignia.
